Tech help - creating a signature in Outlook Express
If you follow this specifically, or get your twelve year old to help you, you will get this done just fine.

in Outlook Express 6.0 do the following:

  1. Click on Large button upper Left: Create..
  2. Click your mouse in the body of the email.
  3. Write your Name and other information, including your email address and website.
Add a motto about your products or service in italics
    Example:
    (start with a spacer line)
    Jake Henry's Big House Builder

    All new residential construction
    Jake Henry
    123 Long Lane
    Farawayfield, NH  03500

    Jake@BigHouse.com
    603-888-1234
    www.BigHouse.com
Knock on our door to build your great home

  4. Next, you can add your nice association logo graphics.  Use your mouse below to highlight the area BETWEEN the lines below until you have all three pictures and the words highlighted.  I suggest you start in the space well to the right of the mouse map, and then swing your mouse left & up until you catch all the pictures and words between the lines.  If your cursor changes to the little hand, or launches a new window from the link, just try again.  You will get it on the third or fourth try.  (This is where the 12 year old comes in.)
Then Right Click in the highlighted area and choose Copy.
Now, paste it below the rest of your signature in your email.

  5. Now save your email.  Click on File, Save As...

Save in: choose My documents, or make a new folder called My Signatures.
Also drop down the Save as type: box and pick HTML files.

Give it a File name like, "Jake Big House signature"
    Then click Save.

  6. X out of the email you just made, you won't be needing it any more.
  7. You are doing fine here.  Keep going and then you will be able to use this lovely ending in all or any emails you send.

  8. Now - to make the signature take place:
    Go to Tools, Options

  9. Click on the Signatures Tab

  10. If you want your business signature added to all emails, then click the box "Add signatures to all outgoing messages"
I prefer to Unclick the second box, so that my signature is also added to all Replies & Forwards - that is up to you.

  11. Everyone - Click on the "New" button over to the right.
  12. Click on the little circle spot by File and then the Browse button.
  13. In the next window, first click at the bottom, on File of Type: and choose HTML.
Now, Look in: inside this, hop over to the folder you placed your signature file (Jake Big House signature), whether in My Documents, or My Signatures, etc .  When you find it, choose your file and click "Open."

  14. Now, Click on "Rename" and change it to "Business signature," or something like that.

  15. Click OK and you are good to go!

  16. If you did not choose to add the signature to all emails, you can always add it when you please.
Do this from inside the body of an email, at the spot you want it to be inserted.
Just click Insert, Signature, and pick the one you want.

    Voila!
