What can I do?  What can you do?
- To unite our housing concerns, bring in new building techniques, attract business, make the best contacts to run your business smoothly, and support our local North Country Home Builder's association?

#1 - Numero UNO - COME to all events
You might think you are just one person, but there is likely someone looking for a sub (= you) that you could connect with.
Your attendance also encourages our sponsors who pay some money to be seen by housing people - that is you!  Just by coming, you help us to bring in sponsor dollars to run the association that benefits you.  Now, how often do you make money by just sitting down & chatting?  Pretty good, I'd say.  So, come on over - no cost and fine fun.
We are committed to having free educational meetings - in fact we are about the only association in the state that does so.  So, enjoy them!
#2 - Buy a subscription for $50 to the North Country Home Builders
You can contribute some money to the local association and help us to manage the costs of meetings, mailings, calls, and organizing - even paying a part time staffer  in the future to do some of these things.  This is a really big help and makes you a definite part of things, knowing you help make it all happen!
#3 - Become a member of local & state & national organizations in one membership
You will know if your company has the profile to be a leader in the building community, if the membership of $425 fits in your budget as an investment that pays back many times over when you use it.  This is the number one important item in any growing housing business.
Hey - Don't worry if it is out of reach for your contractor business; you can do #1 and #2 above, and...
#4 - VOLUNTEER
You don't have to be a member to volunteer.
Any group that meets and has work to accomplish has plenty of little chores that will go well if many hands pitch in.  Some ideas:
  • Calling folks for meeting reminders
  • Helping keep the sign up & visible during storms and melting snow
  • Helping move tables into place at the meetings
  • Finding good new materials that folks will want to know how to use in the North Country
  • Reinforcing quality construction methods with young people
  • How about events like the County Fair?
  • Maybe you have some ideas?  Share them with any of us!
  • Help us plan educational calendar for the next year
So - just wanted to let you all know that this local association is made up of you and you and you.  That's how we will survive and continue to be a united voice to enhance the building industry right here in the North Country.  Step in and do a piece to help out and you will enjoy feeling a part of a good thing and enhance your business too.
Be sure to email or call me with your thoughts.
